Name something you wish TV shows and films would stop doing

Name one thing you wish the writers of TV shows and films would stop doing, this could be a cliche or just things you wish you could tell writers to avoid because it irritates you.

The cliche of
-Fat guy goes thin

-Assh0le guy shows an intimate, sensitive, damaged side

ever-escalating stakes/scale/absurdity

The Fast and Furious franchise is a perfect example of this. The first movie is really a story about friends and loyalty, with cars. The most absurd thing that happens is that a car drives underneath an 18-wheeler.

The next movie the cars have ejector seats, they drive off a ramp into a boat, theres people getting tortured by rats, ect. Not too bad yet

But eventually you start getting Lamborghini's flying into helicopters, the street racers from the original are now international spys like James Bond, tanks start showing up ect.

Disney Star Wars introduces and even bigger death star that now destroy 5 planets at once

Jurassic Park now has tons of dinosaurs that trounce the trex and even brought dinosaurs to LA

you get the point

srs? I know The Simpsons for one checked off every box. A lot of sitcoms play those tropes to the ground.

Idk but 99% of all commercials these days have a mixed family. I don’t care one bit if there’s a fully black/white/Asian/Mexican ect family staring in a commercial but it’s so unrealistic to see a good looking black lady married to the whitest looking of white guys and vise-versa. It’s to the point where if there ever is a commercial that has only 1 race, I make a huge deal about it to my wife and tell her we’re never buying their products and I go on about it the rest of the commercial lol. Drives her crazy

When I was growing up in the 80s, there were two main issues on shows that bothered me. One was when an older female character like a mother insisted that kids were too young to understand what love is. Even at ten I knew what love was, so it never made sense to me.

Another thing was that no mischievous kid could ever get away with anything, a father figure would preach to them and say I hope you learned a valuable lesson from all of this.

Dan Schneider destroyed those stereotypes into the ground when he started making shows in the 2000s, Drake could get away with anything without getting a speech from a parent figure. Megan could get away with anything, too. And on Zoey 101 the kids fell in love and had relationships, and no adults judged them. So progress has been made.

Chase scenes. All they are is the boring foreplay to the climax of a scenario.

Very few chase scenes are done well.
