Certain races are more susceptible to male pattern baldness than others?
Approximately 30% of white men are affected by age 30 years, at least 50% are affected by age 50 years, and 80% are affected by age 70 years.4 The incidence of androgenetic alopecia also varies with race:white men are more likely to develop baldness than are men of Asian, American Indian, and African heritage . Also, the extent of hair loss often is more extensive in white men than in men of the previously mentioned other ethnicities.

That is because those in those tests White/Caucasian includes Semitic peoples such as Jews and Arabs. Middle Easterners have the highest rates of baldness on average. European (white) men have rates of baldness that are the same or slightly less than blacks and more than Amerindians and Asians.

DHT receptors are responsible for localised baldness in the head and hair in the face respectively.
Therefore we can conclude the factors that influence baldness are:
receptor sensitivity
receptor density
levels of test to dht conversion enzyme (5alphareductase)
Clearly there's a strong genetic and a strong environmental factor at play here since we're looking at something that's related to hormones.
