is it true that everyone is addicted to something? SRS

whether it be nicotine, alcohol, sugar, caffeine, smoking, pornography, or some other substance or whatever the case.....

i kinda tend to think so, but there's prob a lot of ppl that have their thing as something like caffeine or sugar but they don't consider it to be an "addiction" cuz in their eyes, that's something "bad" like drugs.... but really i think ur seeing a lot of things going on mentally and chemically that are the same or very, very similar..... so to be addicted to caffeine, let's say, but everyone does that right? And it's socially acceptable.... but for that same person to be looking down on someone that doesn't have a problem with caffeine, but maybe has a problem with pills or a different drug or something that legit causes similar chemical reactions and triggers going on inside of you in terms of things like serotonin levels, dopamine rushes, etc.

and some stuff i'd say maybe sometimes people aren't necessarily addicted to (sometimes the case tho), but they help people lower inhibitions to where they can be more comfortable and themselves in certain settings and not be so self conscious and nervous and having such high anxiety.... things like alcohol, smoking, etc..... i mean, i guess more so a cope.... they don't know how to achieve that type of feeling and act like that without those crutches.... like how do these people fix that?

is it a matter of trying to examine things in ur life like this and maybe trying to just replace them with another habit, but healthier habits?

idk. i guess you can get real loose with the term "addiction". im pretty sure its typically used for when like it detracts from other areas of your life.

like you knew you needed to pay bills but you bought cigarettes or something instead

cause i think you could say most people are addicted to "life" instead of "death" if you expanded the definition
