Lying to Employer About Vaccine

Well, just got scolded by my boss and HR over a phone meeting about not setting up a vacthene appointment yet.

“We’re strongly encouraging you to get it” was said like 10 times

I’ve never came out and said I’m not getting it, just said “I know I need to make my appointment”

Can I lie and say I got it? Seems like it would be tough with the vacthene card, but when would they need to see that? I assume they could see through my insurance if I got it or not. Pretty sure I’m going to get fired over not getting it.

“You need to get it to protect your mom and your nephew” bitch shut up you’re 5’2”, 300lbs since when do you care about health.

Lol @ not knowing your rights under HIPPA.

Ask them when their last HIV test was and what the results were... then when you get Bert stared tell your boss he/she has no legal right to ask you about ANY medical history.

EDIT: yes, it's HIPAA, not HIPPA - way to miss the forest for the trees

kind of a catch 22, he might not get fired but sure as hell they will try to get OP to leave and make it hell for him in subtle ways. or if they have a round of layoffs he may be on the chopping block. might be just better off leaving tbh though it's not always easy finding something else.

This. She said everyone that comes into the office is vaccinated now besides me. They can just wait a couple months then let me go without cause or cut my position.

Bro there are like a million blank vaccine cards you can download off the interwebz and print out.

Just take a day off to say you have decided to get the vaccine and if they ask to see your card either call a lawyer or show the fake one.
Or do nothing see if they actually fire you then profit with the law suit.

They can’t make you take an experimental vaccine.

I’m just wondering when you get the vaccine if you have to show them your insurance card, therefore they bill my insurance through work and they could know if I was lying through that

Employers can fire you for anything. How can I prove they fired me because I refused to get the vaccine?

Here is a really easy way to do this.

1. Make an appointment with CVS.
2. Show up for your appointment. Show your insurance card and ID. They will fill out a vaccine card at check in and give you the card and tell you to go wait in line to get your vaccine.
3. LEAVE.

Done.

Depending on what you do and the company they have to provide documentation for laying you off. Of course you have to give them zero reasons and be a valuable employee.

If your insurance company gave your employer your medical records or history you would not have to worry about money for a long while.

Of course I’m just a bro on the internet and I take no responsibility for anything that might happen. As others have said learn your legal rights.

True. I guess getting my fake vacthene card is my biggest issue now. The card shouldn’t be hard to make, but they have stickers on them, that’ll be hard to replicate

Got my vaccine at CVS (yes actually got it) and this is what they did. I could easily have walked down to the back and turned around and left with the card completed without getting the shot. Then you can just write whatever on the line for your second shot. If it's Pfizer, add 3 weeks.

If my company ever tells me: take the vax or get another job, my response is "Peace out, let me grab my stuff and I'll be out in about 15 minutes."

There won't be a 2 week notice, I'm out the same day.

You literally have to provide consent for your provider to give your employer your medical history. Which, pretty easily, implies you are under no obligation to share it with them. Really not sure where you're getting this self-righteous indignation from, because you could not be more wrong.

What a total cookie cutter you are, he was saying that you do not need to show proof of any medical record you have because of HIPAA or HIPPA like he said. Thats why he brought up to ask when their last HIV test was, its not their business.

OP You do know you can pay out of pocket for the vaccine right???? Just tell them you got it and you don't feel comfortable sharing your medical records to them or just leave that ******* company

So they claim they are making cuts and just lay you off or anyone else that didn’t line up like a sheep for an experimental vaccine??

Any refutable company that lays you off for “cuts” can not fill that position for a given length of time. They would have to offer you your position back first due to “cuts.”

BINGO!
At least one guy got it. I never even said it was a HIPAA violation, he just made the strawman argument. My point was simply that they don't have the right to know and you don't have to answer. Other laws protect you from reciprocity. Equal Employment Opportunity or Department of Labor might save, OP... but as someone else said, it would probably make for a completely toxic environment anyway and you'd probably just be better off leaving.

Sounds like you need to find a new job. The local medical center's are not requiring vaccinations, so why is your employer?
