Under the American Families plan, American families would have access to free and universal pre-K for three- and four-year-olds, while American adults and “DREAMers” would have access to two years of tuition-free community college education.
so, free community college unless you are white?

rightwing until financially secure

They're already doing away with advanced placement courses so as to not hurt the feelings of those who didn't make the cut, and the provide "equality". Four more years of chit tier education will just produce fuking idiots who are four years older than their K-12 alumnus counterparts. God forbid they addressed the root of the problem instead of just doing the cool woke thing nowadays, which is essentially just throw more "something" at it to fix the problem. Money, committees, people, etc. In this case, years.

"12 years is no longer enough to compete in the 21st century. That’s why the American Families Plan guarantees four additional years of public education for every person in America — two years of universal, high-quality pre-school and two years of free community college." - Biden

The current education system is fkd , and all this would do is extend the phuckery producing lack luster morons... then giving them a free college education in which they simply lower the bar to protect the feelings of ignorant morons Vs trying to get everybody to level up. Then by the time these morons are ready for the real world they will fall on their goddamn face and blame white people for not just handing them everything they want without having to actually work for it like they have been conditioned to do their whole fkn life... yeah.. fk Biden

Quantity =/= Quality

They need to focus on bringing trades and higher quality education to schools, not longer useless school. Most school systems are terrible. I didn't even learn grammar, until I went to college. NYC public schools are a joke, can't imagine how bad it may be in other cities. I could have learned most of everything that I learned in college, in high school. (Ded fkn Srs)

I think Biden is a retard and parents should be homeschooling their kids at this point. They're literally trying to spend as much as possible to crash the economy

Why extend school when all they do is skip kids along who fail anyway. It’s all about not hurting their feelings to hold them back a grade these days.

They also want to include pre-kindergarten.

I don't think more years of schooling is going to change anything. Quality>quantity. And it is used as an indoctrination tool, from my experience of recent classes.

There were so many kids in community college that just didn't want to be there or didn't have the mental capacity. Making it free for all is just extending the subpar education they're receiving in K-12 and continues to be a space for baby sitting and keeping kids out of trouble.

I think education is a great idea, it just doesn't seem like it's for everyone in the format provided.

4 more years to make Tik Tok videos in classes. Pathetic.

I also read the other day that schools shouldn’t have honor or AP classes because it’s unfair to other students.

All this will do is open more opportunities for the elite, that can afford sending their children to private schools or get homeschooled. It's practically removing the "middle class" in the education system. (Ded fkn Srs)

They want your kids in school longer. They want them in earlier and they want to ensure they are in after high school.

Outside of there is no way to afford it take the following points into consideration.

The current political party in control literally views the government as your new lords and saviors. Biden said “we the people, that means the GOVERNMENT” in the speech announcing this.

The same political party is also pushing for CRT projects to create more racial tension and bring back Jim Crow segregation. All in the name of social justice.

Hillary Clinton is a strong proponent of lot takes a village to raise a child”. That’s a 100% communist statement and that’s being echoed by Commander Potato.

The Department of Education is heavily tilted to its political woke ideology.

So they just want more time to brainwash your kids.

Strong win USA!!

Even with extra years there is no catching up to China or Russian education though.
Chinese education....yea they throw a ton of math at their students but with that comes just as much CCP propaganda and stunted creativity.

Its why despite Americas education not ranking as high in math and sciences but yet America still mogs the fuk out of China and those countries when it comes to actual real world application of said education. Theres more to it than standard test scores.

Creativity is every bit as important as arithmetic and fact memorizations when it comes to innovation. Its why China STILL is and forever will just be knocking off everyone elses stuff, because they are well rounded enough to do it themselves

The rich already send their kids to the best private schools out there. IMO, most those kids aren’t the smartest tools in the shed and they’re only there because of $$$. The same goes for Ivy leaguers.

I believe that middle class kids are more bright and work harder.

Not to toot my horn, but I was assigned to Honors History and AP English/Math back in HS.

Oddly enough, it might do the opposite.

South Korea is notorious for parents pushing their children to achieve, study hard, and excel from a very young age. Because of that, there are South Koreans graduating with great grades and tons of knowledge who struggle to find meaningful employment, since EVERYONE is so overeducated. The book I read about it drew the simile of somebody standing up at a sporting event/concert to have a better view. Eventually everyone is standing, and still has the same view. If everyone had stayed seated they'd have had the same view and a comfortable seat besides.

This.

We need to get our high schools up to standard instead of focusing on graduating everybody. It's ridiculous to drag it out. Let the kids who are going to be sheetrockers-4-lyfe find out early so they can get started.
Nah, fukk that. I’m not doing that.

I read that the US spends more money on education per child than any other country but ranks in the middle along with countries like the Czech Republic and Argentina. Not even in the top 20.

It is pretty clear the teachers union is way too powerful in this country. That is why you get these degenerates who have no business teaching children hold onto jobs for decades.

Increase the standards of qualified teachers and you will fix this problem. Same thing with the police. The union is way too powerful and the standards of entry way too low.

okay but its still public education... you could have 30 years of public education and it would still not amount to much of anything in the real world.

in terms of actually finding a good position, companies will want to see that you have something which makes you stand out from the pack... if everyone has a bachelors degree, they want to see a masters; if everyone has a masters, they want to see a PhD... make sense?

so this isnt actually fixing the problem, its only creating a new one: stunting the amount of real work experience young people can get by essentially forcing them to do more schooling.

huh, not a bad idea actually. Two years of additional preschool is whatever but two years at a community college is enough to snatch some type of trade/cert and get to work.

Everyone knows our public education system is chit. There's plenty of better alternatives. Plenty of students I graduated with had respectable business degrees but still couldn't get jobs for long periods of time. Companies are requiring too much education/experience already. Once more education becomes free and accessible, those expectations are going to increase even more.

-Could raise the qualifications required to be a teacher. So students are actually prepared with usable material. Govt. standards are also a problem, requiring teaching of useless subjects.
-Let students who are capable to take advanced classes online with the best teachers available, regardless of their location.
-Subsidize internship programs to get kids into jobs earlier to gain experience as early as HS. Honestly, the best alternative I can think of.

cause US public education is working out so well, let's add even more on to it. then we can release immature indoctrinated idiots into the wild in the mid 20s

With free community colleges in the plans and zero criteria for selection, you can count them as an extension of high school. I won't be surprised if community college professors start complaining about discipline issues and "adults" not doing their work and goofing off in class, and probably starting up fights and so on.
