Was pre 2012 the GOAT time to be a lifter?

Lifting forums/websites were in full gear (zyzz, rubish, leeman all on the forums)
A 500lb squat was considered strong
Original jack3d formula and other supps that are now banned
Not as common to the public, so if you were muscular you stood out more
No crossfit/twink powerlifters ruining the scene

inb4 op is a ******* because we have foam rollers now
Best lifts:
Bench press: 315x5
Squat: 465x1
Strict press: 205x5
Deadlift: 405x13 (conv tap'n'go with straps)

Yes. Zyzz era

Now everyone is into "gym"

Even heaps of girls are into "gym" but don't even know the basics of progressive overload.
