Could be a correlation not equals causation thing. Spending more time in the sun, getting more Vit D, fresh air, has been shown to increase test.

This isn't about melanin. Women have thinner skin which shows as more pale.

When trannies go on hormones they get pale and have thinner skin. So less "pigmnent"

Women in general have lighter skin for better vitamin d photosynthesis and fertility. Men only have themselves to care about and are the ones running out in the sun doing the hunting and shiet so generally have slightly darker skin. Of course the tradeoff of getting too dark is vitamin d deficiency and lower fitness in the male himself, hence why dark skin is an inferior trait (in low light areas)
