Was America still normal in the 90s?

I was a kid so I wasn't really aware of the world around me. Could someone fill me in on this? Bowlcuts, gogurts, kid cuisine, ding dong ditch, acting mischievous in general, mopeds, America was still a northern European like country, etc. etc.
