It's weird how much of a fanbase the Total War series has compared to Paradox Interactive series. Paradox has objectively better AI and just more realism in general - such as almost every country being present on the map and playable. Paradox numbers are more realistic too. Like you have armies of 10,000+ to 100,000+ (millions if Hoi4) while Total War the armies are under 2,000 which is way too tiny.


Total War just has some easy exploits. Practically all the games if you dig in and turtle the corner: the AI does suicide kamikaze on your men and loses hard. Other times it's just way too easy to flank their asses with cavalry.
