Got a job today - 64,500 a year...But feel sad

Okay to make a long story short, i started a website design company 2 months ago, hired a telemarketer, she got me a ton of leads, no closes yet, but working towards it. Today i got a job offer for 64,500 a year. Most i ever made plus full benefits. I took the job. Catch? I cant do website design on the side, so in short, I need to shut down my business and fire my telemarketer, feels bad man. Almost feels like i gave up. But, a stable job, full benefits, remote work is hard to beat. Thats all MISC.

don't know brah, wouldn't you rather have your own business? Sounded like you at least had a start on potentially getting it off the ground. Hard to resist the stability of working for somebody else though, and the benefits are really hard to turn down I'm sure.
I can always do online personal training on the side, thats not breaching any contract, i just cant do website design on the side as its competing with them directly

This is the reality of software engineering. If you're in web dev, literally build your own company/business, and are an excellent coder, best you're getting at the entry level is 60k/year even in San Francisco.

Im a jr developer so the skills i learn on this job can lead to bigger and better things. Given i dont even have a degree, its not bad considering

It's because software engineers are the trades of STEM SRS most of the time once something is developed you are no longer necessary BRB spending tons of hours typing and looking for one error in a single line of code and lol at anybody not using some cheap ass website like shopify opposed to paying for your POVERTY coded site for 10k SRS

Exactly. The mechanical engineers are the ones who build the cars. The mechanics/tradies are the ones who just make sure the hoses and fluids are working and all connected.

Unless you have a very heavy math/algorithms/data/statistics background, it's very likely you'll be a literal tech tradie.

Beats plugging in computers under company desks for IT though.

Not entirely true, I am coming into I.T with literally zero background or degree and sure I am doing mostly maitnence and some minor implementation but I am pursuing education to learn more about network design and security plans to be in a more desirable less tech tradie job people don't realize cloud is killing network engineer especially with automation if you aren't going into security you should lay down and rot SRS. However I do understand what you're saying different people play different roles and while they're all important there are more desirable positions to be in based off the value you're providing being more immediate makes your life all around better.
