Too Much Water Is Bad For You? (Vid)

Been seeing quite a few of these "Experts" or "Drs" online coming out and saying that too much water is actually bad and you are just flushing out your minerals etc..

is this legit? or is the extra urination just the water you dont need?

seems to be so many contradictions in the health/nutrition world

In extreme cases, yes.

True story:
My brother went to basic training at Ft. Benning, Georgia - known for being hot as balls and humid as all hell. Kid in his platoon was complaining of not feeling right. The Drill Sergeant gave him the canned response of "drink water". Kid kept drinking water per the DS's instructions. He later died from consuming too much water. Not sure what exactly happened medically/biologically, but too much water was the catalyst.

Currently drinking around 4 litres of water per day so I'd like to know the answer on this. Have read both views recently but not went deep enough yet to know the real answer.
Dude's a fraud, has been debunked multiple times. Doubt he even is a real doctor.

VQ9q_mcnGD4[/youtube
He's a chiropractor. I haven't watched any of his videos in a long time, but he used to have some decent info imo. Then I remember him posting one claiming eating too much fiber makes you fat, which seemed moronic and his explanation didn't make much sense.

At any rate, yes too much water can flush out Potassium at least (and it is possible to die from phucking up your electrolytes by drinking too much, but it has to be a ridiculous amount) - I'm not sure about other minerals.

8 glasses a day really isn't that much, I can't imagine drinking even less than that. With all the coffee, tea, water, etc I drink I know I average WAY more than 8 glasses of fluid a day.

lol interesting
I really like the way the guy comes off and a lot of his advice.. but on certain topics like diet.. he thinks carbs kill you and just happens to be selling keto books.. and this water video
i dont buy it. the only thing I think is that I need to cut down on drinkin before bed to sleep more uninterrupted and just use common sense with not overdrinking

Too much water can cause electrolyte imbalances. Nerve signals and muscle contractions can become compromised leading to dangerous irregularities with the beating of the heart.

There was a famous case of a contestant involved in a water drinking contest for some sort of prize. They died from overhydration.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

^^^ This.

And also glucose increases the uptake of sodium and water by the intestines.

That's why sports drinks and ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) were developed.

Just taking water by drinking it, doesn't mean your body also can take it.
