Does growing up without love/acceptance/validation ruin you for life? (srs)

I was very ugly growing up and ignored by girls and my family it left me with deep insecurities.

Many people fall into this categeory actually many bodybuilders.. chestbrah a good example.. very insecure as a teenager, got into bodybuilding yet all it has is masked deep insecurities and a lack of self love and creates personality disorders (e.g. narcissism )

Have you ever met a women who used to be really fat and/or ugly growing up then became fit? They are the most messed up. They are so insecure and addicted to all the attention/validation they never received when they were younger

anyone else grow up the same way? it ruins you for life imo.

Probably. At a minimum, it’ll scar you for life & it’ll take years of effort to feel remotely ok. Sources: I grew up without love, acceptance, or validation & I’m definitely really fuked up. I feel remotely ok now after 7 years of intensive therapy, meditation, & distancing myself from my family.

gonna say yes

have seen too many people have unbalanced personalities due to retarded parenting
and usually unless they take it upon themselves to address their flaws. its all over by the time they're mid 20s or so as their personality is cemented

takes years and plenty of effort to undo/fix backwards parenting. Most people are too arrogant or clueless to realise they are flawed.

The thing for me is i've realised i attract similar messed up girls to me and even hang out with guys who are similar to me.. we all seem to operate on the same level.

Whereas people with healthy self esteem seem to hang out with others alike.

I'm trying to change myself so i can be around better people.

I'm not lifting for looks, I lift to get stronger. I want to maximize my potential. Being strong feels good and allows you to do more, being fit also allows you to live longer.

You'll be alright bro don't let people get you down. Looks are a subjective thing also, you can find someone to love. You don't need external validation to be okay with who you are, you gotta look within. Don't let all that superficial chit rule your mind.

You aren't ruined for life, you've just been through some chit. That only makes you stronger. Can't change the past, keep looking forward. Things can get better or they can get worse, but if they get better then you gotta work for it.

life was great when I had love/validation from my parents but at some point you are supposed to get it elsewhere through friends/relationships/yourown family. That's where I fell off.

I can’t comprehend how people have spouses and live with them for more than 1-2 years. I guess certain people are destined to be alone.
