The whole 'game of thrones' saga still baffles me lmao
GRRM says there was enough source material for 12-13 seasons
David and Dan say they'll only do 7
GRRM says 10
David and Dan settle at 8 but season 8 only has 6 episodes
The biggest show in the world, a cultural phenomenon. Why would they wanna leave the show? You're literally responsible for the most popular show on the planet which could run for 10-13 years and you decide to cut it at 8. Surely it wasn't just a money issue because I'm sure HBO offered them millions to continue and they even said hbo said they could have all the time they wanted.
And they absolutely rushed and nuked the last season to the point where the entire show is now un-watchable. We just went through a pandemic where everyone was forced to be at home and I don't know a single person who re watched it lol. Which is insane seeing as it encapsulated the entire planet when it was airing on TV.
They ruined their entire careers, got fired from Disney and pissed off the world in 6 episodes lol.
And that fat kunt GRRM isn't even gonna finish the books because he's working on 5 prequels to the original show. He's gonna let that season 8 trash be the final say in what happens to his story.
Who the fck is gonna watch prequels when you know the absolute trash tier ending it eventually leads to?
Still baffles me to this day even though it's been years. Fck all of em.

They should've just handed it off to someone else if they had already checked out and did not want to do the original proposed amount of seasons. Do 6 seasons and let someone else do it and leave with your respectability.

D/D were looking ahead at the next steps in their careers and rushed the ending. you could feel it almost immediately with that final season. something was off from jump.
i've always thought breaking bad was the king. but the first, i dunno, 85% of GOT kept up with it. that said, when you screw up the finish, that's what people remember the most.

The main issue was running out of source material, nobody could write those characters as well as Martin, nobody.
The second biggest issue was DnD idiots wanting out but not wanting anyone else to take the reins.
Agree it was a massive ****show though. I heard there is a prequel show coming soon, and NOBODY cares.

They could have handed it to a random neckbeard & it would be 10x better. The common wisdom was they thought they were gonna run the Star Wars franchise & ditched GoT for the potential Disney billions. The only prequels I would be interested in is Robert's Rebellion or The Doom of Valyria, but HBO would still probably **** it up with SJW nonsense somehow.

The first couple of seasons compared to the last might as well have been a separate story the quality was that far a part.
Just lol having a 7 season build up of this elusive undead final boss to have an 80lb "assassin" that screams and runs past a whole army and leaps to kill him in one strike. They might as well have just left out the white walker plot.
You could also see the sneaky tones of real life politics creep in.

Yep Disney undercutted the show and offered them way more than they're worth to walk away. I believe they still ended up going to Netflix to do ABSOLUTE BULLCHIT shows.

From the time Arya witnessed the Lannisters murder her father and then the rest of her family, her entire storyline throughout the series was to learn how to be an assassin so she could take revenge on the people who murdered her family. From the time Jon decided to join the Nights Watch, his entire storyline was to convince the humans of Westeros of the threat of the White Walkers and to defeat the Night King. Ok, fine, but the writers decided to have Arya have nothing to do with the Lanisters deaths and have Jon have nothing to do with the Night King's defeat. That's just chitty storytelling. It's not surprising, it's not shocking, it's just chitty and deliberately pisses of the loyal fans. The way Arya killed the Freys was badass, she should have done something similar but even more badass with Cersei, I mean that was the entire point of her story. And ever since the staredown between Jon and the Night King at Hardhome, the proper ending should have been a showdown between them instead of the stupid ending we got. This has nothing to do with source material, it's basic storytelling that anyone could have been able to do.The main issue was running out of source material, nobody could write those characters as well as Martin, nobody.

With Star Wars, there is no source material since Disney prefers to create their own universe and there is no GRRM. George Lucas is out and Dave Filoni is an overrated hack. There’s no way DND would’ve made a good Star Wars movie.

They wrote the entire last couple seasons based on “subverting expectations”. Basically if you thought it would make sense then they didn’t want to do that

Daenerys Targaryan was the worst character in the entire show, DED SRS.
show would be better with her entire arc removed, she contributed nothing to the main plot until the final season and then what she did contribute was ****e.

It was truly disrespectful giving us 6ish great seasons then ****ing it up the rest of the way, I still get upset thinking of how much time invested watching that show only for the WOAT ending since Dexter that made the whole series pointless

Meh I didn’t even mind it but I look at it differently. The climax and final episode was when Arya killed the walker king. The rest was just epilogue fluff, finishing up character arcs etc..

If it sucked, they would be remembered as the ones who got it right. If it was good, they would still be remembered as awesome.
There has never been a show that had that kind of insane drop off in quality, fuk Dexter, fuk that smoke monster show, nothing can compare to the stupidity of GoT season 6, 7 and then 8 has it's own even deeper level of Hell stupidity.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Rumor mill was that the directors were offered the chance to direct a new Star Wars project, which ended up being The Mandalaorian. After they bungled GoT so poorly Disney ended up not hiring them and instead gave the show to Jon Favreau, which was a good thing because of how great the show ended up.
Unfortunately those dicks still got paid because Netflix snagged them to direct something on their platform.

I got suckered in by that show. smh. Lettuce be real it's Martins plot that was at fault, it's the reason he can't finish it. He had a fantasy about the Stark teenagers being the heroes.
