Brahs, any other hospital security clowns out there? I did that job right out of college about ten years back. I have a friend who is in this field now, which prompted this.

BRB psych patients going nuts and getting tied up, people spitting at us, kicking us, etc

BRB working alongside fat asses who tried to pass themselves off as cops and who had a hard on for authority

BRB random people wandering in at night and talking in gibberish, having to kick out homeless people, accompanying dead bodies from the morgue to the hearse, being there when people die and their families go nuts

BRB hnnnng nurses who looked down on security and thought all security guys were incels and jokers

The pay was actually pretty good and my degree was useless back in the thick of post-recession America. Eventually I went back to school and changed fields.

Anyone else delve into the obscure and weird world of hospital public safety?

Many guys I worked with became cops eventually. A lot of the younger guys saw the job for what it was.

The older lifers who desperately wanted to be cops were the real jokers. Always Monday morning quarterbacking every single things that other guys did, and generally making up BS stories of their own glory, to name two common foibles.

I worked with one fat ass walrus who can still be seen today standing post. Some of his greatest hits:

- claimed a girl would show him her pussy while he was lifting at the gym (this guy was an obese 50 year old)
- claimed he once took on the Hell’s Angels in a bar fight
- did part time process serving but claimed to be on a SWAT team, talking about “raids”, lol
