Tips for moderating intensity when injured/almost injured?

You brahs got any tips for this ish? Tweaked my rotator cuff (?) a week ago and have been trying to keep it mobile/do some rehab stuff, but I think I might have made it worse.

Kind of a common mistake for me:
-acquire minor injury
-rest a bit/try to figure out exercise to aid in recovery
-do exercise that feels fine at the time
-later realize I have completely overdone it as pain sets in
-acquire major injury

Rotator cuff can end up requiring surgery and still be a lifetime problem.

Stop and go get it looked at. Might already be a bigger problem than you're aware of.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

Appreciate the concern and am definitely trying to play it careful, but I'm not sure I'd even say I have *pain* in my shoulder yet - really just sore/uncomfortable. Just did maybe a few too many arm circles yesterday (that felt good at the time) and am wondering if anybody has any regulation tips.

Will very likely set up an appointment next week though if it doesn't feel much better after the weekend.

The incident my username references was very much in my mind in the writing of this post.
