What the fuk happened to the Pittsburgh airport?

So I was returning to Houston yesterday and walking through the main concourse at about 2PM, I noticed that half of the shops were closed, which I found odd for what should be a very busy time period. When I got to the terminal I found out why. Out of 25 gates, maybe 5 of them were being used with the rest of them completely vacant. Walked around the other terminals, and it was the same in all of them. 100 total gates, and only 15 or 20 actually being used. Got to Houston at 9PM (flight was repeatedly delayed) and it was packed at a time when you would expect things to be tapering off.

Was it always this vacant, or did Covid hit it that hard? It was more depressing than IAH during an oil bust.

Airports are the one of the deeply affected by the pandemic. Even in EU, airports/airlines has been fighting for border reopening for many months now.
