In Russia, Fire Island has the toughest prison imaginable. In the U.S., Fire Island is a gay vacation destination. Says everything you need to know about the 2 countries.

There is another documentary on Black Dolphin Prison in Russia that is interesting.

The only reason their prisons are so orderly is because they actually feed their inmates sufficient food. That makes all the difference. Also, prisoners in the US are legally slaves of the state so that's something to consider when looking at the big picture.

I honestly don't know why we bother housing, feeding, guarding these people etc. It's an completely inefficient way to use resources IMO. 50c bullet and feed them to the pigs.

Too many jobs at stake, guards, doctors, nurses, lawyers, food manufacturers etc

I assume that your boy was involved in drug smuggling? How warm am I?

I would not want to be imprisoned in any 'developing world' prison. Forget having your own space and eating anything like 2000 cals per day.
