What kind of person wants to go back to high school as a teacher?

Is it to get revenge? Retribution? A power trip? One they never felt or had when they went through the system as a student?

Did they never let it go?

Because, man. I'm watching some of these classroom compilation videos. These kids are so flagrant and rude. You couldn't pay me to go back and teach those kids. The youngins are straight savages!

I actually quite liked the idea of being a teacher (srs), but it's just so badly paid compared with the hours you do

Teacher here. With the right administration and some good kids it's a nice time. Hours are tough but summers off.

a friend of mine from HS and Uni went back to our HS to teach Biology.

Catholic HS in Canada. Overall afaik it's a sweet gig

I feel like if I were a teacher and I taught elementary school, the kids would get a leg up on me socially/intellectually and MOG me. I would be thrust back into my past as a socially inept retard.

Now I have developed a persona that allows me to operate amongst adults while emulating the idea of a professional. It’s hard when certain people have spoken linguistic fluency in the moment that commands immediate respect, or comedic timing in a meeting situations that makes me think “wow, how do I do that?”

Actually the only job I ever really wanted, cant justify a 100k pay cut now though

Chit tonne of holidays. Find me another job with 10-12 weeks off a year.
Also a short work day. Tough to get fired from government jobs.
Has its perks for sure.

I’m a teacher and I love it.

I’m a special education teacher, working with kids who have serious behavior issues.

I didn’t watch the video bc I’m two days into summer break and I’m not trying to lose my chill right now.

Being an intercity school teacher must be a special kind of hell. Remembering what me and my peers put our teachers through.. das not it.
