Coming home from school & waiting 10 min to boot that 5400rpm HD you cucked with morpheus viruses

All the Stacey cheerleaders would come online & you'd end up on a three-way phone call with them so you could schedule where to "hang out"

pop in my AOL free trial internet disk, then cancel before trial period, await next one in the mail

one time forgot to cancel, got charged $14.99 for the month or something, had to call them and cancel, that was a pain.

A/S/L op?

Used to troll people in chat rooms and give them some alt aim account of mine. Was hilarious and also creepy as hell when I told them I was a 13 year old female. My chat would get blown up.

GOAT internet says.

mIRC was fukin weird. Too nerdy for me, and I work in IT lol. I mostly used it for some gaming stuff.

Remember when you had to download music off LimeWire, then you had to use the ****ty recording option on the new Nokia phone to record the song. Then you'd go around showing all your friends that you have 50 Cen'ts P.I.M.P as an .mp3 with awful sound quality

Ah limewire. The good old days of giving your computer aids for some music and games. I lost count of how many times we had to wipe our computer because I ****ed it up beyond repair with whatever virus I got. Spent a lot of time playing the random tycoon games from there too.

I still remember sometime in 1997 my best friend telling me I HAD to download this new program called AIM. By the 1998 school year it had spread like wildfire and I can't think of a single person in my class that didn't have it. 8pm on a school night everyone was either online or idle with an away message.

It's popularity started to dip in the early 2000's when MSN and Yahoo came out with their own messengers, but for a few magic years it's hard to describe how fresh the AIM experience was. We went from calling friends with a landline to chatting on the computer almost overnight. The early days of the internet were like nothing else.
