Lonely as fuk

Moved out to Vancouver to better my life, my employer gave me the opportunity (always wanted to live in van) and to be with my girlfriend (who I broke up with over a month ago)

Was working so much since the breakup that it never hit me but I’ve got no one out here now and it sucks.

I usually thrive being alone, but I’ve got more good friends back home than I can count and could surround myself with them when I felt like this

Been going on dates with some great girls but have no desire to pursue anything with any of them.

Dear diary
What do to shake this ?

Nature brother, spend some time in it if you haven't already.

Always clears whatever anger I'm feeling right up, and if that's not enough then hitting the MMA gym will get the job done.

If you've been in constant motion and this is just now "hitting" you, it might be time to stop and let it catch you.

I'm not saying wallow in depression, but if you've been in denial/avoiding something it is better to stop and look at it head on. If you just sit in the fire for an evening you may wake with a new perspective.

PM me if you need someone brother 100% ded srs.

Hang in there brother. It's easy to say but harder to do -- staying busy is very helpful. Lift, church, reading, hiking, doggo, going to bars (lol) and chasing skirt are pretty much all I have right now outside of work, and I'm only working 2-3 hrs a day

Do it srs, you will also enjoy the community and have the potential to make good bros. Nothing like beating each other up to form strong bonds. I'd say go to trial classes before signing a contract, to make sure the teachers are good and the people helpful.

Das it

Feels. I went loner mode as a college undergrad, but started building a friend circle up in grad school. I had a Rolodex of maybe a dozen names I could text and just chat up about random chit, had a couple guys I could drink and party with.... then I moved out to California for a job and lost all of it. No friends out here, only people I talk to are coworkers (all male, all middle aged, 90% Indian), and IDK how to go about building another social circle.

Grass is greener. It comes in waves. Sometimes I feel like I want a GF and other times I'm happy I'm single. If it's socializing aspect you're missing, just go to a convention/event that interests you. Example I was feeling lonely the other day and I enjoy Hawaiin music so last week I went to a restaurant event that was promoting their food with live Hawaiian music. None of my buddies wanted to go so I went alone and I met a few people and it was nice.

It’s simple but time heals all wounds brah. You’ll feel alright eventually and you’ll have on/off days. Just for the love of god don’t let yourself turn into sandman. Stick it out for the time being because if you move back home you’ll wanna be back where you are now. Gotta find happiness in yourself rather than relying on friends/family to bring it....of course they’re great BUT if you can get yourself in a good head space out there ok your own in these dark times you can do anything in life srs.

You should go check out downtown eastside OP I've heard it's one of the friendliest neighborhoods in all of Vancouver.
