Just closed on a house on 3 acres.

In NoVA, 30 min away from DC, and there's 400ft of woods between my house and my nearest neighbor's. 2900sq feet, 4 car garage, one level + basement. This is my second home, and it took longer than I wanted to get here, but we're moving forward, and progress is progress. We're all gonna make it.*

Spoiler!
*As long as you put in that work.

Second property, I plan on moving to it and renting out my old home. $625k, 1960s home, it needs a fair amount of work, but the house next door (new build,) is appraised at $950k.

Something like .75 of an acre is lawn, house, and garden, the rest is woods. I plan to keep it that way, it'd be cool for the children in my family to play in.

did you pay off your first mortgage to get a 2nd one approved on such little down? typically you have to put up over 100k probably more depending on how much the house cost

ask the misc how housing is meant to crash when demand has exceeded inventory, and inventory is at historical lows

usually when that happens the supply gets more then is asking and is the opposite of a crash... Misconomics

Nah, what I did was turn my VA loan into a VA IRRRL by refinancing, (because you need to live in any VA mortgaged home, and I plan to rent out my first house), then I used the rest of my entitlement which was about $600k to buy the new house.

The beauty of real estate is that even if it does crash, it will eventually go right back up, and people will always need somewhere to live.

I wish Amazon wasn't coming here, traffic is already bad enough. I moved from Jersey five years ago, before that I was in NYC. I like it here, it's quiet, there's less crime, and people are friendly. Plus you make just about the same as you would in NYC in terms of salary.

One thing I did was, make sure I can comfortably afford both mortgages, but I do hope they stop with the BS no evictions, and free money for every degenerate.

I'm 32, bought my first house at 26, started a new career at the absolute bottom at 24-25. Grind it out, and make sure it's a field you can grow in, and the sky's the limit.

No hate brah but you didn't buy a second home, you got a second mortgage. So you don't really own chit a bank does.

I respect your hustle though and you're still young and there's no doubt in my mind that you're on a right path and you'll actually make it if you continue the hard work. Also this property sounds pretty darn good and a perfect place to raise a family. Good luck broski

For real though post some pics, not of the house itself but the garden and the woods, cus we're curious *******s all of us
