How often do you play the lottery?

And what's the most you've ever won?

Over the past 10 years, maybe 1 time a year. When I was younger I did more. I’ve won $500 twice.

Never. I don't think I've ever purchased a lottery ticket. It seems like a thing low class people do and spend their welfare money on so the gov can make it back.

I'm not a wild person but every 2 weeks, I like to get a few scratch offs and live life on the edge a lil. Most I've won was $200, but I went back and got more and lost most of it.

My colleagues and I dabble in lottery when the jackpot reaches 100 mil+. It's just for fun. We never won anything though.

That's a lot more fun than the lottery. If you get a streak on the early action you can pay attention to the games and get some easy entertainment value vs. looking at a losing ticket for 5 seconds

Only ever played once... Didn't win anything so I went back for a refund and they said "we don't give refunds for losing lottery tickets". I was appalled and haven't played since.

never... it's a voluntary tax. If I am interested in paying more taxes I will head to the casino... at least there I am more involved when losing my money.

The only time I ever played was if someone got me tickets like a Christmas present.

The most I ever won was $20 on a scratch off.

Ofc it is a luxury expense and you can save/invest that money instead but that goes for all luxuries. Eating out, Starbucks, movie theater etc you can also rephrase as a waste of money but that goes for basically ever purchase beyond just food and shelter.
I get that 100%. I have family that are avid gamblers. It isn't really about winning/losing but more or less just getting away and having fun.

I like to golf in my free time... it isn't cheap. And some people would rather run their dik through a meat grinder than try and hit a ball in a gopher hole 300 yards away. 18 times. To each their own.

Haven't bought one in months but will go a couple week stretches where we get them a couple times a week. Back around 2009 we matched 4/5 on a Cash 5 (100k jackpot min) and was literally one or two digits from hitting the fifth.

My bud's dad won like 50k on a powerball powerplay around the same time.

Never played it in my life, I do bet on football (soccer) occasionally but that's about it. Most I've won is £50/$70 from a £3 bet lol.

playing the lottery is like buying crypto or meme stonks, it's for the low IQ simps to be taken advantage of.

We play a few lines every week at work. Comes to about $5/month. There was a group at my work that won a million dollars a few years ago.

What really blows my mind are the cheapskates that refuse to throw in. Like yeah I know the odds but it's only five bucks ffs. How much of a bloody tight wad do you have to be to not join?
