What they are saying makes sense.

Yet how the fuk do you rig not one but TWO skyscrapers with MASSIVE amounts of explosives and wiring AND controls during or after construction without anyone sharing the secret or noticing it was going on.

To me, after thinking about that, it makes their collapse more believable.

His assumptions regarding the structural integrity throughout the building are almost certainly not correct. If only there were some other explanation of how the structure could have been weakened on lower floors other than explosives. Jet fuel can't flow downward like other liquids...right? RIGHT?

If you've ever seen a plasma cutter or oxy/fuel torch, you know full well that jet fuel CAN melt steel.

IIRC there was a lot of "construction" going on so crews were in and out of the building infrastructure so it didn't seem out of place (assuming they were wiring explosives)

Simply weakening the steel at critical points is sufficient to dramatically reduce the resistance against the falling mass and explain the 2-4 second slowdown vs. free-fall. Heated steel can be bent with light pressure from your pinky yet knuckleheads are still out here talking about melting the ****. Here's a physics lesson for you: it would collapse long before melting could ever be achieved.

Precisely....coincidentally I was on the top floor of building (not huge....but 29 floors) during an earthquake and it was a fun ride for the next few minutes.

Yes. Using his pinky. You're trying to defend your position with semantics and ignoring the real issue, which is that structural steel loses almost all of it's structural integrity almost 500 degrees (C) prior to it's melting point. If you had a background in Engineering I suspect that you would already know this but instead you're just clinging to some hope that people might think you know wtf you are talking about.

I haven't spent any time looking into the WTC specifically but most structures from that era use a wide range of grades but will have a melting point around 1500C or so...I forget the exact number. Each grade has a different loss of strength with temperature but excluding more recent high-strength steel they will have a chart similar to this:



Notice anything 5 ****ing hundred degrees before the melting point?

So not only are you wrong you are, for some reason, making an argument completely irrelevant to the point....which is that structural steel will fail long before the melting point.
