Currency rates alone don't dictate how strong a currency is, nomsayin? US dollar = strongest economy/military on the planet.
e.g. go on a vacation in the third world. These places accept both US dollars and the local currency. Sketchy street vendors/hotel staff always prefer the dollar, cus it's far less volatile than their own Monopoly money. The Euro doesn't have this effect yet. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more US dollars in circulation outside of the states, than in. Ergo more people depend on a dollar than an Euro.
