Merlot and Reisling were what got me into wine

I drink 10 dollar bottles of red wine in about 2/3 hours. I just drink to get drunk.

I don't drink anymore but I've got these for my brother in law who's a "sommelier" and he liked them.
There’s some beautiful wineries near Kelowna. I went to dirty laundry last year and was thinking I’d like to enjoy the wine they have but tasted like chit to me.

Your best bet is probably to drink rose everywhere. If you're around Kelowna/Lake Country there should be some decent rieslings and gewurztraminers. Down from Penticton to the border there's some okay merlot, cab franc. Ice wine is good everywhere. Only good chardonnay I've had was from Checkmate, but prices are silly.

BC wine is about the worst bang for your buck in the world because the real estate prices are napa-tier and most wineries have no idea what they're doing.
They got little baby legs that stand so low
you got to pick 'em up just to say hello.

are we talking you're visiting wineries or just going to bc liquor store? If wineries, just go on a few tasting tours and pick up a few bottles of what you enjoyed

Do some tastings and decide what you like. It's not like the movies where you're going to be expected to know specific vintages like "oh this is an 1811 Chateau Lafite, a comet vintage. Spectacular."

Just know that red wine goes with red meat and white wine goes with fish and poultry. Other than that, just drink what tastes good. It doesn't even have to be expensive either. You most likely won't be able to tell the difference between a $100 bottle and an $11 bottle of Yellowtail, srs.

Personally, I prefer cabernet sauvignon or similar red mixes. La Crema makes some great wines in the $20-25 range but like I said, you could stick to Yellowtail for half that price and still enjoy it.
And relief washes over me in an awesome wave
