Why is Clubhouse even a thing when Youtube, Spotify and Apple etc etc all exist ?

You probably have heard of the new social media podcast platform "Clubhouse"?

I get the idea is cool and all... but what is differentiating itself so that users would go there instead of simply waiting for podcasts to be uploaded on Spotify, Apple or whatever... youtube has podcasts (live too) as well.

Have never used it but doesnt clubhouse allow you to interact via voice with other listeners?

U literally can be speaking with thousands of people as if u were in a conference


By ur same logic, why did we need FB if we had myspace? Why did we need youtube if we had TV? Why did we need spotify if we had apple music and napster before that?

Yes it is a platform for a host to have a podcast.... or a lecture if you will. Its like an app where you hop into lectures and listen.

But what I mean why is this so much better and different than the host just recording the lecture/podcast and uploading it somewhere lke Spotify?

it isn't and it will most likely fail, this is pre-2010 Justin TV meeting the podcast industry

I have been in this game for too long now, i need u to understand this: you don't win the game by building something completely new that is "much better and different".

You win by improving over the incumbent's offering.
