Advice for Selling Motorcycle!! Private Sell!
I'm trying to sell my motorcycle and I've never sold anything before. I know everyone says to meet in a public place, but I'm also worried about how to transfer the amount of cash. I'm asking around $4k for the bike. I want to do cashier's check, but I don't know if thats the safest option. Definitely not doing money order and I don't feel comfortable meeting a stranger asking for that much cash. Can't meet in bank lobbies as still closed due to COVID.
Also is posting a picture of the title akin to posting your credit card number? I want to post a picture of the title but I don't know if thats stupid or not. If theres some personal info they can use somehow on there. And when I sell it I just fill out the seller's portion of the title and hand it to the buyer and take off my license plate correct?
Would appreciate some help and experiences you may have had.

No free rides at all. Never ever ever ever ever ever
Edit: Have him meet you at your bank, so you can do the signing of ownership and deposit money right away.....
Edit2: if he says no to ^ edit, then tell him to fuk off
Edit3: Dont post anything but pics of the bike and mods and stock parts, no need to post the title.......if he asks to see it then send a pic, but cover any PII (personally identifiable information)

WTF do you want to post a picture of the title? Makes no sense.
Talk to anyone interested on the phone. Feel them out by the questions they ask.

Why would you post a picture of the title just say you have the title in hand and will transfer it over at the time of sale.
You can also meet near a police station.
If anyone is agreeing you to meet at the police station then 99% chance they are not going to scam you.

Stealing it.
You name it, its happened......no joy rides, "Put money in my hand and you can test drive it for life".
When I sold cars (about 8 high performance cars) I would only take them on a test drive knowing I have a gun on me.....I make sure to interrate that chit cause a friend of mine was robbed of his car by gunpoint.

Alright I won't post it.

If not, that's reason to meet somewhere that has a notary.

I just met up in person and let him look at the bike. No rides unless you’re holding the sale amount of the bike in cash in your hand at that moment.
He looked at it, I started it up for him (cold start) and he examined it. We agreed on a price and figured out a drop off day that worked for both of us. I rode the bike to him with relevant paperwork. He handed me 2500 cash and I was on my way. Simple as brah
Take your own plates with you, they need to register and get their own plates.

Here the title has to be notarized when the seller signs the back of it. Also here, plates do not go with the vehicle.
