Got curious and searched Tesla careers and saw an opening for two positions I can apply for. One is a reach since it's a senior position and i've only held my actual title for 8 months though i can stretch my previous experience to apply.
It's a reach and Tesla looks for top talent from top tech companies, but I think I'm really good at what I do and I did a Tesla concept product a while back and just spent the day working on it to put it in my portfolio.




Also I decided to place an order for a Model Y for my stepdad. I have a 4Runner right now and I know he loves 4Runners but in 2019 he bought a Rav4 cause i had bought a 4Runner in 2018 (he helped me buy it). I considered getting him a 4Runner when I got my new job, but never got around to it. I told him a few weeks back I intended on getting the Cybertruck and he supported me. So recently we talked about him getting a Tesla next year. I know fathers day is coming up soon and I didnt know what I could get him. Figured why wait until next year. My mom and him are 68 and 70 so I want them to be able to experience nice things.




Plus I just bought 150 shares of TSLA this week so I gotta contribute to the stock lol.
Anyway, feeling good, wanted to share. Reps til I'm out.

Delivery wont be until September - October. (Performance model was 2 weeks but I opted to get the Full Self Driving for 10k instead)

I'm not sure if I should tell him on Father's Day (get a pamphlet from the Tesla store) or wait till Delivery and take him there.

Benefit would be he could sell his Rav4 now since best time to sell is April - August

I have 0 expectations haha I'm happy with the company I'm at. But I got into Apple retail when I was in college and that is surprisingly very hard too

My chances of getting in are like 1% lol, I'm not even sure if there is employee priority. i know when I was at Apple we didnt get priority for iPhones, but then again I was a lowly retail and not corporate.

Considering its likely 3 months till delivery, they may be able to do something if i were to get hired. but otherwise, man i'd just be grateful to get hired lol

I've heard Tesla and SpaceX are terrible to work for.

Apparently Elon works his people like slaves and the pay is lower than at other big tech companies.

Elon is a hypocrite. Says education doesn’t matter but for tech roles, you have to have a degree in Comp Sci, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Even if you have top tier certifications, it means nothing.
