Aight boyos, I’m back and out of camp! Not tryna get political because that’s for a different and upcoming thread. But actually from my last hiking thread, a dude tells me about this plane crash in NC that you can hike to and obviously I had to check it out over the long Memorial Day weekend.

Starting up the trail

Story is that that the flight took off from Chicago and the pilot had been drinking, they were flying to a airport in NC. It was a super foggy night so they must have been within an hour or so from their destination but the drunk pilot was flying my sight under the clouds, had they only been 150ft higher, they would’ve made it

Definitely do it mane! The views from the trailhead itself are super nice, you just go up essentially and essentially stick to the yellow marks on the trees, come out to another peak around 2 miles in and its down the side of the peak on your left.

If you’re up for a little longer hike, you can go like ~4 miles in and there’s a giant white cross some people climb up at the end
