Most powerful computer speakers? Go > Reps!
I don't need to have like a mini bass party in my room, (I have roomates) more into powerful, high range, and even speech focused since I listen to a lot of audio books on my computer. Looking for something nice, not cheapest, not most expensive.
Riddle me this, was it like my theory 15 years ago when I was in college and all you limp d1ck homos were spending $295 dollars in 17" LCD monitor, and I was like... da fauk homie?? Why not just get a 32" tv, and run an hdmi cable like an intelligent person?? The misc (probably your fathers since I'm so old now, and still forever alone and on the misc) told me I was an idiot and it would be pixilated blah blah... ya that was all 100% wrong, and I went against advice and got like the first 32" LCD with HDMI input created, and no joke, STILL use it today. (good night sweet sperm count).
Anyways, all that to ask, is the best audio / bang for my buck going to be getting a lightly used high end tuner and set of speakers on classifieds for like a couple hundred, and running the inputs from my computer through it? Or is that overkill?
So my question is should I do:
A. That^
B. Get a nice "computer" sound bar... (Insert rant about how a computer sound bar is different from a tv one.)
C. The technology is there in those little mini computer speakers to satisfy everything I want, and more.
D. Other suggestion?
Price range $150-$300 if it was really nice.
Thank you kindly.

Best thing for you're price range is some self powered bookshelf speakers with subout and a self powered sub. You can get a good deal on some decent speakers if you take the time to shop around. If you're smart enough and have the time you can make you're own kick ass speakers for cheap, check out flat panel speakers DIY on the tube, you would just need to spend the brunt of your budget on a decent amp.

I've been running two sets of speakers with my computer. A set of Bose which sound nice and hook up normally and a pair of Adam Audio A7x's which I hook up to my MOTU M2 audio interface. The A7x's I use for mixing and stuff, the Bose for normal audio.
