New study shows lung cancer starts from locally created macro****es
Before I start I don't have any background in bio so correct me if this is wrong...
Macro****es (type of immune cell that plays a big role in protecting our lungs) can be created locally or from circulating monocytes. (citation from the studyhttps://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23601688/)
The ones created locally are the ones that seem to be problematic.
From the article
Tissue-resident macro****es accumulate close to tumour cells early during tumour formation to promote epithelial–mesenchymal transition and invasiveness in tumour cells, and they also induce a potent regulatory T cell response that protects tumour cells from adaptive immunity.
I don't understand half of that but looks like that's where the cancer avoids attack, its protected by our own macro****es. But importantly, its protected by macro****es that are created at the site of the tumor. Ones created from circulating monocytes are just fooled by the locally created ones. If the local ones could be killed or the circulating ones could identify the local ones as to be destroyed, that might cure that type of cancer

....Atlas.....
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Something is simply being misunderstood and/or misinterpreted by the people in white labcoats.

A professor here used the nazi invasion as a metaphor to it, as to how they invaded and leveraged other people to work for them, without the countries really being able to fight against it on their ownWhy tf would the body promote cancer?
One solution is to amp up the bodies own immune system so the immune cells are more aggressive to begin with (our newest weapon against cancer). Amp it up too much and it can result in auto immune disorder.
