Technically speaking, it’s a 2nd world country. First is the USA, Western Europe, and Japan. 2nd is all areas once controlled by the Soviet Union, directly or indirectly. Third World is everyone else.

Weird you say that. Moldova is probably the only legit third world European country.

That is, not using the Kissinger red fear system but rather just calling it a ****hole.

Summoning gypsy Moldovan sloot to have a mental breakdown ITT

To answer OP, salaries are low for European standards, around $700 on average and the country is corrupt AF. Technically it's a third world country but because of how nice are the historical buildings and how well everything works there (internet, public transport etc) I would say Romania is more like a poverty second world country.

Stayed at a budget hotel in Budapest and a Romanian and his son were running it. We had a pretty long conversation that night and from the way it sounds there's parts of Romania that were 2nd world rate and there's remote parts that are 3rd world with no electricity and still using horses for transportation and such. He mentioned the raves that happen in the old salt mines, so I'd say it definitely depends where you are in the country.

Some parts are 3rd world, some are like W Europe. But it's safe AF, minus your wallet. Right now, I wouldn't leave here for anything. I lived in the US for 7 years, if that matters.

I prefer old Europe.

They shouldn’t have let these 4th world peasant nations into the EU.
