What about a person who wants to die early for odd reasons - ex.religion, to freeze their body for cryonics, to collect life insurance, out of spite

What if you no longer have the will or energy to fight for a 20% chance, what if that chance has been elusive for a year. Is there a time limit
Insurance doesn’t pay out on suicide
At what point do you think the government should dictate what you’re allowed to do with your own body

imagine subjecting a terminally ill person to nothing but pain & despair meanwhile theyre sitting around rotting away just waiting to be taken out by their affliction
couldnt think of anything more inhumane

Honestly, when I get to the age where I'm no longer self sufficient and independent I'd rather just go out peacefully and painlessly. I don't want my son/family to have to take care of me or go broke by putting me in a senior center.

But in most places you can’t. You can’t do it in your home peacefully and with physician and family support , and if you do they can be prosecuted
Over here, we would have to fly to Switzerland to get any form of dignity

They kept him alive because of that small chance of recovery. Had he not perished, should he have been kept alive?
What you're describing is, IMO (I'll change my mind if statistics back your point), but a minority of people who would benefit from assisted suicide. We should let those in pain have a final say in their life.

A misguided belief that human life is so sacred it has to be protected/saved no matter the cost or quality of life. Mostly from organized religion.
We love our pets enough to end their suffering, I don't see why we can't extend the same compassion to Grandma or ourselves.
The day I get diagnosed with Alzheimer's I'm finding a nice spot to watch the sunset with a glass of fine bourbon then inhaling a tank of helium.

Because, you can't make a servant/consumer from a dead person. Its just another example of how the government wants to control every aspect of your life.

If hospital systems and pharma companies can choose between you dying sooner peacefully, Or you suffering and wasting away but running up $xx,xxx hospital and drug bills each extra day youre alive- its a no brainer.
Our healthcare field is soo completely corrupted and rotten people cant even imagine.

Make a DNR decree and refuse treatment if you're in the hospital. That's what I'm doing. Just let me die having fun with morphine.

Also, anyone who says “life isalwaysworth living” needs a reality check. What if you were a POW in Unit 731? What if you were destined to have your ass hole sodomized by Big Jamal every night in your cell while his friend beats off in the corner? Come on.

It's all the same. Only difference is taxpayer pays. And gov't sets the prices, so there's always shortages (that's why it takes months to get anything done that's not carted in from an ambulance).
