Running is the goat activity.

Most of you plebs are probably big but you all have fat guts, like a front-row prop.

I love running, but it's not the GOAT.
GOAT activity would be swimming. That's a fact.

Swimming is way better. I actually enjoy it too.
I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never. These allegations are false. And I need to go back to work for the American people. Thank you.

I always laugh at lifters that can’t possibly think of a way to increase knee strength. I’ve ran marathons at 200+ lbs. never an issue if you do your accessories.

Running is good for consistency and seeing results quicker, as you can pretty much run every day. People are also generally more impressed if you can run 10k+ vs whatever you did in the gym.

Sprinting is great but jogging is hard on your body with minimal benefit over walking.

Context *******.

Running in the woods or somewhere with nice natural scenery? I can agree with you that it would be one of the GOAT.

Running in the city, or on a treadmill? Just fkn lol

What i hate about running is that you can't conveniently drink water. either you have to hold a bottle of water which is annoying af, or you have dry mouth the entire time which also sucks.
assuming we're not talking bout the treadmill.

I used to do 1-2 miles every day after my tanning and before my 1.5 hour plus gym session? However it’s been so long since I’ve been tj the gym, so long since I’ve been to the gym....

It's literally not the worst thing you can do to your body.

Learn good form, learn not to heel strike, learn whether you suffer from overpronation, get a good pair of shoes actually selected based on what you need, stretch, work on ankle strength/flexibility, rest, and lastly don't overdo it.

It sounds like a lot but it's not any different than the time and effort people spend building up to, say, a 600lb deadlift. It's like a puzzle. You don't go in trying to pull your 1RM everyday, and you do the accessory work to make sure you don't take a trip to snap city.

Likewise with running. Train smart and figure out your body.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

I've been having issues with sore Achilles Heels for a while now. Not sure what I might be doing wrong.

At any rate - running is good, I don't go nuts with it - but I like to do a decent amount of that and walking - while listening to podcasts and audiobooks (which I have endless hours of). A two birds with one stone kind of thing. Also, just recently got Thrill of the Fight an Oculus (a Boxing VR game) and that will give you a hell of a cardio workout too if you play it serious. The next one coming out is going to have PvP/Multiplayer too.

Running sucks ass. Anything more than 1-2 miles is too much. Most boring form of cardio.

Repped. Former swimmer here and can confirm. Used to swim 5 times a week and out of the blue a friend wants me to run a 5k with him and did it under 20 min. Swimming is great for cardio and lung health, not bad for your joints, and probably the best form of rehab after almost any injury.

I just 'speed walk' and do 5-10 mins on the treadmill a few times per week. I used to go on 3+ miles runs back in 2006'ish and in a way it was great, but it's not my thing now.

Martial arts classes are good for cardio as well (MMA, Krav Maga and the like where you are always moving and using the 8 points)
