I don't understand how China has limited job opportunities. Hasn't their GDP been growing at 6% for the past 20 years?

95% of that GDP is going to either businesses or the party.

They have a graduate surplus by heaps due to culture of going uni, becoming a scholar and bringing glory to your family.

They can't go back and be a farmer, as they'll get recategorized into a tier III city, and become lower caste (tier 3 ppl cannot go into tier 2, tier 2 into 1, 1 into special - This is to keep urban utilities up to scratch)

They can't work in the trades in the city, as all the uneducated Gen-X kunts are doing it.

They have ultra-lax worker's right (ironically for a communist country), so standard hours are 996 - 9am to 9pm, 6 days a week for USD 800-1000 a month. Jack Ma literally said its a blessing you can work so hard and long for your (company's) dream. Check this website out:

If I had that kind of life, I'd 100% be a rotter. Why live when it's already over? Why do you think the whole world is bashing on China? Would not be surprised if the CCP did that to distract the people with an us VS them distraction, while their own lives turned to ****. I legit did not thing badly of them till I saw this video, and everything clicked. At least give your people a good life FFS.

Other points to add are that that 6% is very questionable (China often cooks the books), and they are transitioning away from a manufacturing-based economy - much easier to figure out to do with a few hundred million worker drones (send them to the factories, duh) than it is to figure out what to do with a few hundred million people with college degrees.

The book-cooking is true, as is the fact that communism has exacerbated moral decay and lack of honesty. A high percentage of those with advanced degrees cheated and/or bribed their way through university, so they have certificates but don't actually know anything or have any legitimate skillset, even in STEM.
