How long will smooth sailing last in the USA?

This has been my view from the very beginning of the pandemic.

I don't know that we're close to real SHTF (famine, grid loss, dire poverty) but we are heading down some dark dangerous roads that people seem largely oblivious to. The pipeline and meat producer hacks come to mind. I don't think it's too far fetched to think it's literally any day now that life can come to a complete halt if a coordinated attack were to happen.

I moved to the Midwest for opportunity, and already considering moving further south and getting a homestead set up to live semi-self sufficiently at least. I've got 2 kids I'm considering homeschooling for other reasons and hell....why not roll everything up and cover all my bases here.

So, does anyone feel this way? What are you guys doing about it? Am I getting paranoid? I'm honestly worried that I'll be removing opportunities from my kids should I go this route, but if done right I think it's a good way to build strength and character.

The real impetus for this kind of thinking isn't political, nor ideological, but based on how utterly useless and uncoordinated our leaders have acted. Other disasters that come to mind that are largely caused by idiots in charge not planning things are the Paradise Fires in California (killing over 20 in a communication and planning nightmare) and the Texas power grid going down last winter which could have been averted if leaders would have planned better. I don't like having my life or my kids lives hanging in the balance and am heavily considering going rural and staying out of the way of the next clusterfuk that comes our way.

My prediction is between 2025-2030 (no later IMO). There will be a great catastrophe most likely triggered by political problems. It will be a disruption bigger than anything that's been seen in 80+ years but it cannot be avoided at this point.

It's not all doom and gloom, because something else will rise in it's place. Don't believe me? Bookmark this post and come back when disaster strikes. I'm not Nostradamus, it's cyclical. And we are at the end of this current cycle. Buckle up, boyo (very fukn srs, srs).

IDK, but we really need to take climate change, energy crises, pandemics, and nuclear security srsly. There are also natural disasters. We just need to be better prepared in general for chit. We've had a comfy few years and none of us really know the struggles of previous generations.

a lot of truth in this post, srs
“Peace does not mean an absence of conflicts; differences will always be there. Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means; through dialogue, education, knowledge; and through humane ways.”

Lol, that's the thing-I actually used to follow right winger chit over a decade ago but have since moved on. I'm not as connected to current events as I used to be and am def not a crazy prepper stacking silver, MREs and ammo. Some recent events coupled with the bungled responses have worried me tho. If this pandemic was an actual bioweapon or even just more lethal, we'd be pretty boned. An inch of snow brought Texas to it's knees. A single hack took out gasoline to the East coast. Do you not see how vulnerable we are? These were disruptions, imagine an attack from a determined enemy.

russia, china, north korea, iran

no warning just cruise missiles and moabs to every critical piece of their military infrastructure and letting them know they are now satellite states and will be playing by our rules
