If you are thinking of going to Mexico, let me aware you on the best resort...

I give you hotel Xcaret. Did ten days there a few years back.

Upscale, 5 star, all inclusive, including every park in the area including Xplor, Xenses, all the ruins, etc. The parks are fkin worth it. Xenses is a mind fuk. If you have a weak stomach you can puke just standing still on the street. Ziplines through waterfalls, miles of underwater cave swims.

5 star chefs at every restaurant, all you can eat all the time, free everything. The resort its self is a damn eco adventure. A river and canals run through the place and there are fish and chit swimming by the rooms.

11/10, would recommend. Food is 11/10.

Downside, about $800/night for two, but its only money brahs. Rooms are awesome. The parks are better than you could imagine. We even walked past the initiation lines for the zip lines and chit, because of the Hotel bracelet. Anywhere you go there, if you are wearing the xcaret bracelet, people just usher you through.

I just looked into going back to Cambodia for a bit.

Their are still locked up tighter than...well, whatever the opposite of Silencespeaks is.

I went with wife. Was decent.

We got an opening deal at 65 percent off. Was us and a chit load of rich uppity people. And I'm snorkeling off the beach fukking around with the baracuda, and trying to trap those monkey lookin Coati critters on the beach.

The parks and chit you can do make up for it. You could probably spend two months there and always do something different.

Because they had just opened, I got it at 65% off.

I am going to Mexico? Mexico is high value to the nsa to solve the border crisis... which means? They move tj the top of the list. man, the kids will love the parks. the underwater cave swim and ziplines are great. Swim with dolphins and chit.

Ya, its great. The tours are awesome. Always felt safe. Police have truck mounted machine guns, but the money comes from tourists in that area so they dont care to chainsaw anyone from what I have seen. Just maybe dont wander into a random town at night. We never did, didnt have enough time to explore even over ten days.

If you want an "authentic" mexican experience, maybe do something else, but for something different highly recommend.

I found Cuba to have a safer feel in general. I took off with one of the horse and buggy drivers on his day off one day and he took me fishing cuban style. Ended up at his cousins restaurant down the coast and they cooked the fish and chit. Wasnt a touristy place, and he didnt want any money. Never felt the least bit unsafe.

I never been to Mexico before but I always wanted to go there on vacation somewhere to like Cancun. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll definitely look into this place if I ever go.

Went to the Xcaret park and spent the whole day there, back in summer of 2017. Loved the park, loved the big show they do at the end of the night. Plus the river-cave swimming (despite how cold the water could get). No reason to stay at the on-site hotel, especially if you want to stay at adults-only ones. No need to put up with screaming kids both day & night.
Stayed at Platinum Princess Resort in playa del carmen for a few days, then Kore Tulum. Can't fathom spending $800 USD per night in mexico.

Basically exactly what you'd get with any medium-high tier all-inclusive in Cancun or Playa. At night there'd be different themes that were pretty poppin - casino night, volleyball games, etc. Plus pretty quiet after 10pm or 11pm. We did a 1-day excursion to Chichen Itza from there, and a 1-day trip to Xcaret.

My favorite resort, and OP would change his mind & pick this place if he visited it. It's a "spa resort", with some light daytime activities (yoga, meditation, etc) in between people getting their massages & treatments. You sleep in these nice little cottages or if you reserve them the canopy beds along the cliff. Besides the spa stuff the other big hook to this is that you can rent a bike (free obviously) and go down the beach road (lots of little folk markets) or up to the Gran Cenote, or to the Tulum ruins (which you can also swim at).

Was great - six minute bike ride and you're on the beach.



Would never in a million years occur to me to visit Cancun & stay in the hotel area.
