Every time I go to a Hawaiian restaurant

My meals come with noodles, rice, and macaroni.

Wtf how many carbs do they think people need? Do Hawaiians really eat like this? Is that why they’re usually fat?

Never been to or even seen a Hawaiian restaurant in real life. Where do they have these? Is it just a west coast thing?

i go to poke places quite a bit. you can usually get the base as salad.

Yes and yes. Not Hawaiian, but wife is Polynesian (Tuvaluan) and I lived there for 3 years. They don't grow any rice because there's nowhere near enough room, but they eat a huge pile of it with every meal. 100% imported. Also imported junk food like sodas and chips.

yup-its not just hawaiians; most people here eat like that. restaurants and food trucks give you portion sizes big enough to be your lunch and dinner. the lack of physical activity, sedentary lifestyle, and this diet is why most are obese. polynesians werent always like that; the introduction of rice and western diets are compounding the issue.
