Starting weight 167lbs, bodyfat around 15%
Looking at cutting down to around 150lbs and then building up with minimal fat from a lean base. Height 5ft 8.
Aiming for 1lb week loss.
Macros
1800 cals
135g carbs 30pc
60g fat 30pc
180g protein 40pc
No cardio at this stage. I'm quite active anyway (Walk the dog around 10-15K steps day).
Mistakes I've made before on cuts
Suicide cutting too low calories too quick and losing like 3-4lbs a week = then losing all my muscle and having to lose more weight than I would've had to if I did it slowly and ending up a skinny fat low muscle mess - losing all the muscle I gained on the bulk. Complete waste of time
Not keeping protein high enough = muscle wastage
Not keeping training intensity up high as ****. Always figured stupidly "Well I can't gain any muscle in a deficit, so what does it matter if I dont train my hardest".
Not training abs.. pretty much ever. Believing they will look good as soon as I get lean not show until I get lean.. Well I had to get to like 8-9pc bodyfat for them to show well last time. If I had trained them properly they would've looked AMAZING at that bodyfat and they would've shown nicely at like 12-14pc bodyfat, which would mean I would also be bigger/stronger and more easily retain my muscle mass and strength.
Cutting out carbs and doing Keto.. You need carbs for energy mental and physical. It will also help improve workout energy, which helps you maintain muscle mass.
Estimated time for my cut will be 17 weeks, which takes me to 22nd October. Gonna post some SICK shredded halloween fancy dress outfit.
Aims:
Weight Train 5 days a week
Abs everyday yolo - gonna use Abs wheel for 3 sets of 20 reps at least daily. Then do my abs workout a few times a week on top of that. I HATE training abs, so this will be a struggle.
Stay accountable on diet. If I go over one day by 200, go under 200 the next day.
Weigh in daily + take progress pics or videos once a week.
