Is True Detective worth watching after season 1??

Season 1 is very good and there are some lovely breast displayed but i hear the other seasons without Mcconaughey and Harrleson arent as good. If not, are there similar shows to watch?? Thanks!

The 2nd season is ass but the 3rd season is actually back to being really good.

Not on the same level as the 1st one, but really good in its own right. It even briefly references the events of season 1.

I would skip season 2, go right to 3, and then move on to another show.
I call it "Celebration". It's sexual, and violent...

S1 was some of the best television ever.

S2 was fun, very gritty and grimy. No fairytales here, but nowhere near as complete as S1.

S3 is good, multiple timelines, but it fumbled the ending. Disappointing arc for all characters for sure.

If you liked season 1, watch Mare of Easttown instead of season 2 and 3.
Bodybuilding is a lifetime journey, anytime spent not bulking or cutting is a waste of time.

s2 is a way worse storyline but follows the same style so its worth watching at least because theres not much else out there like it.
I have watched season 1 twice and probably going to watch it a third time since my fiance hasn't seen it, its just such a good show.

When I watched it the first time as it was being released most of us at the police department were watching it and trying to figure it out but none of us could, even after the write said that the killer had already been in one of the episodes.

Season 1 is one my my favorite series of anything. The writing and the way the story is told and the acting is just all top notch.

Season 2 is not very good by comparison because they brought too many main characters in and you don't quite feel as connected to them all. It's not that it's horrendously bad as it was made out to be, but after you see season 1 you can see why season 2 was just not quite as good. Some good acting still and overall not bad, just not as good as season 1.

Season 3 was good and I liked it, but still not as much as season 1. I preferred the 2 main character dynamic as it just seemed to fit the story better and the characters and acting were good yet again.

Season 1 simply set the bar so high that the others just don't quite get there, but still on their own they are good. Season 2 isn't that good imo, but again I think it's because the writers just tried a bit too hard to make it all seem complex.

If you want to retain the enjoyment and near perfection of Season 1, don't watch the others.


Season 2 isn't bad, but was completely wasted.


Season 3 missed the mark entirely, felt much more boring than the others.

Ranked in order of execution: 1, 2, 3.


Go watch The Wire in stead. You will not be disappointed.

Season 2 just went way overboard, they made everything to complicated. Season 3 was more simple but the ending sucked

I honestly liked season 2 the best... Season 1 was a huge let down watching it after hearing so many good things about it for years... just seemed super basic. Acting was great and the tits were nice but that was about it.

Season 1 is very interesting and terrifying.

It deals with a Lovecraft inspired character called the "King in Yellow". Lovecraft allowed this character into his pantheon. The King in Yellow is also Hastur. The brother of Cthulhu. He could drive people into murderous insanity. I was amazed when I saw season 1. I've not seen the other two yet.

Season 2 was a joke and a waste of a great cast.

Season 3 was actually very good. Great performances from the leads. Didn't know Stephen Dorff had it in him tbh.

Season 1 is a must watch, doesn’t matter what genre are you into. It’s a masterpiece, and has an incredibly amazing performance from both of the most charismatic and likeable A list actors in Hollywood, who play the role of very likeable and complex characters. That plus a decent to good storyline really makes it perfect (plus the goat tits)


So in comparison to that, of course season 2 is going to be seen as lame or ****, because its really hard to follow up after that s1 perfection. In reality, it isn’t that bad. Has some very likeable characters and good performances, plus some nice interesting endings for a few of them. Didn’t like Rachel McAdams character because it’s hard to convince me of an 9/10 hbb princess playing the role of a dark fuked up badass detective, but other than that, it’s a good season. Was a huge fan of Vince Vaughn’s character as well.

The story just got too complicated I think.
