What’s the next Amazon Stock?

Story time:

So, in 2001 or so Amazon share was like what $14? I remember people at work laughing at this one guy who put tens of thousands or more on this “book store” he thought would have a bright future, and apparently he invested plenty in it earlier as well. I remember people standing around looking at the screen as he sat there, asking him how would people review or see the stuff they would buy online... wouldn’t you have to see what you are buying and hold it in your hands? What if you buy shoes and they don’t fit? Or if they look bad? Then you have to mail it back... pain in the arse... So, today this guy would withdraw million of dollars?

TLDR

What is the next sheit to buy? SomE AI or drug developers? 3D printing?
So far got me some apple, Tesla, NIO and a few other big ones like that.

Beyond unlikely that someone who bought a stock like Amazon around the dot-com bubble would have held on for 20 years, better chances of getting rich off a handful of scratchers

market is complete clown world now and all the "advice" they put out in books for picking value stocks are in the trash

amazon started some of it with its P/E ratio off the charts but atleast they made money

then tesla went through the fuking roof and they can barely make a profit

Then the meme stocks for companies facing bankrupcy took off

Hard to say really. Electric cars, electric stations, and battery companies will be the future.

Have you thought about looking into cheap crypto coins. Your chances of getting retirement money from that sound much better. $5000 in Eth back in March 2020 would've amassed 6 figures today.

Cardano is something like $1.50. I'm gonna slowly stock up in hopes it hits $1000 in 10 years or so.

Pretty much this, feels like we're living through the roaring 20's and people are buying a chit ton of junk stocks with money they don't have in order to get rich quick. I'm convinced that the bubble will pop eventually but it's hard to predict when.

Most stocks aren't in a bubble... maybe meme stocks... but Microsoft, Google, and Amazon are all trading at very low P/E multiples given their growth trajectories

I'm currently putting 10% of each paycheck into Blockbuster. I think it's going to make a huge return. Netflix has garbage selection and no one wants to pay full price to rent a movie online.

Plus, the experience of going into an actual store. Smelling the popcorn. There's only one right now but give it a few years it's gonna blow up.

Also palantir. Don't think anyone really knows what they do which means it's the perfect investment.

In4 everyone just shilling stocks they own

You should be buying what you know and understand thoroughly IMO. Identify your area of competence and buy companies that are trading for the best value relative to their projected cash flows and you'll do well, it doesn't need to be more complicated than that.

If you don't have specialized knowledge, you're probably better off buying indices and holding long term. Why anyone would buy genetics or data analysis companies when they know absolutely nothing about those businesses, I don't understand it

This is the way I look at it. Invest in things you understand or have an interest of.
