Is this the gnarliest wave in the world? (Shipsterns Bluff, Australia.)
Surfers of the misc, I present to you my opinion of what is the gnarliest wave to surf in the entire world. Not the biggest in terms of sheer height, per se, since I think that belongs to Nazare, Portugal, but Shipsterns seems to be the craziest in terms of the thickness and scariest dynamics of the wave itself:
Look at the way smaller new waves form within the bigger wave itself; its unpredictable and can spell your doom easily. Like an Xzibit meme: Hey bro, we heard you like surfing so we put a wave in your wave so you can surf while you surf.
Makes Jaws, Waimea etc. look like a family friendly snorkelling pool.

Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.

".....We'll get him when he comes back in"
"He's not coming back...."
"He's not coming back...."
Everything I post is satire.

Without those, and you bail on a shipsterns wave, I'd say it's 100% guaranteed goodnight sweet prince.

So if you get wiped out by one of these things how long would you have to hold your breath for? Do you get dragged around like being in a washing machine? Chit must be terrifying

I'd imagine it's less like being inside a giant washing machine and more like just getting pulverised by tons of concrete.
