do you shower before sauna at public gym?

thinking of taking advantage of sauna there, not really sure about etiquette.

are people really showering before they get in, just to sweat more? seems kinda dumb if you will just need to shower again.

i only sauna at home but i consider it a common courtesy thing like showering before swimming, it's not like you need to scrub yourself clean, just wash off the crusty salty sweat briefly since it's a shared space

feels better too imo

I always shower right before going to gym. When I use to swim, I'd rinse off before entering pool and rinse off after pool before sauna or steam room.
