did I go too far, cancelling my gym membership over replacing a scale ?

- join gym -- gym has scale (weight scale)
- have a routine of checking what I weigh in at just before my workouts
- year later scale disappears
- start inquiring about said scale missing, everyone basically says that have no idea if it's ever getting replaced
- months go by, no scale, have inquiried about scale over the months
- come into gym one day really pissed that I couldn't weigh myself, tell gym "listen if you guys can't replace a scale i'm gonna cancel my membership. Told them it's not too much to ask for a scale when i'm paying $75/mo and that I know I could just buy a scale, but that it's the principle
- week goes by and still dude pretty much says the scales not getting replaced
- quit gym

is a weight scale not a standard item expected at any gym ?

You should have a scale at home and weigh yourself first thing in the morning. But yeah any self respecting gym should have a scale.

Don't blame you opie, I would do the same thing... in fact I cancelled my membership to the gym when they started doing ******* things like moving some of the equipment to the parking lot outdoors and then closed the main gym (due to the 'rona), mother****ing liberal ****heads

And it’s a huge chain with several scales held privately in trainer offices

You should be weighing yourself at home, in the morning, after you poop.

I thought everyone knew this?

My gym dumbbells didn't have any weight numbers on them. (eroded away). I bought some custom made stickers from aliexpress with the numbers for $8 and pasted them on dumbbells myself.
Improvise, adapt, overcome. Just lol @ quiting a gym you enjoyed going to.
