Let's talk about T-glottalization. I'd like your thoughts on this

Over the last few years I've noticed that this has become a trend with a lot of young girls and it's driving me nuts.

T-glottalization is when the speaker swallows or doesn't pronounce the T sound in word...typically in the middle.

Example: kitten is pronounced KIH-en or important is pronounced ImPOR-int.

I've heard this a lot from women in professional roles too.

What is the explanation for this phenomenon?
