I'm very outgoing and social and if it's not going as planned then I move on. If the vibe is good, then I'll escalate/give my number. If it's some place I frequent like the gym, then just play it cool and be patient. No number until further down the line.

It's really just like networking or making friends. Idk why everyone puts girls to high on the pedestal. They're insecure and if you're even just average/slightly above, they're probably hoping you're a cool dude. Anyways, if you have any confidence and think you're worth anything, then why deny them the opportunity to meet you? If it doesn't work out, just be cool and normal. Say hi if you see them again and that's it.

I have found that most of the time, they will reach out after that but any red flags and I'll pass. If they don't reach out, who cares. You showed balls when you told her she's cute and you'll never see her again anyway.
