North Vietnam fought total guerilla warfare against the United States until the Americans started killing their own officers. At that point they took the Americans out and then with them out of the way, the North Vietnamese Army and Vietcong invaded and cucked South Vietnam. Huge pointless loss of life for Americans and North Vietnamese as well to a greater degree.

If you call the US objective supporting South Vietnam and stopping the spread of communism in SE Asia, they very clearly lost that. Their client state collapsed, and Burma and Cambodia ended up rekt by communists and civil wars.

We killed a **** ton of Viet Cong and NVA's. Were successful in battle but do to political reasons the US never invaded North Vietnam, and ended up signing a peace treaty and withdrawing.


After the US left, South Vietnam was taken over a few years later (not sure of the dates), when the North finally decided to invade.


The images of the Fall lf Saigon was ths US evacuating because they new the North would kill American supports/Americans.
