Average age of covid death - 85 years old

Life expectancy in Australia - 83.

Definitely justifies locking half of Australia in their homes.

Precisely. I have a mate who's a paramedic who dealt with a "covid death" of a guy in his 30's. Dude had stage 4 liver cancer... :/

85 yr old dies from longstanding heart disease and a dozen other serious health problems. Huh, would ya look at that, no symptoms of Covid but comes back with positive PCR test after death.

USA doctor doesn't put Covid on the death certificate, but government health officials still classify them as one, add them to the count. Same happening in OZ?

I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you if you don't think Drs in the US aren't putting covid on the death certificates. The US government pays hospitals for each covid death.

Currently Sydney and Melbourne are locked down and you can leave the house to:
- Shop for essential food (browsing is illegal)
- Exercise outdoors in groups of 2...no further than 6 miles from your home
- Get medical care, including the vaccine
- Perform essential work, everyone who can must work from home.

Sydney has ~100 cases per day and Melbourne has ~10 cases per day.

As for the public's opinion, it depends who you talk to. The elites on TV and in the media are all for it, because they are not affected by it.

The man on the street isstartingto get fed up (i.e. middle class people), but the public was incredibly compliant last year and basically did whatever the Government told them to. They were cowed into submission by fearmongering from the media and politicians.

Hopefully there will be protests about this but everyone is probably scared of the $1000 fine you will cop if you break the rules.

Cheers mate, I'm not in Sydney or Melbourne thankfully - but we will be paying for the government handouts for the next 3 decades.

Yep, the Australian media is promulgating pure propaganda at this point. The deaths are minuscule, the positive test results are minuscule, 99% of cases are asymptomatic. The obsession with case numbers is useless, but they need it because the ICU and actual death stats are laughable and they can't fear monger with those.

I'm not sure about the Government, but the media definitely does this. One clear example in my home state was announcing the youngest covid death in the state of a man in his 20's. Later it was revealed he had been battling cancer which was the cause of death - there weren't even any Covid cases at the time in his town.
