None of you are intelligent. There is no open discussion of intelligent adults online except via direct communications between researchers and in publications. Stackexchange used to be good, but it became corrupted and there are a lot of flat out wrong things on there.

I have seen about 20 intelligent posters. A few were doctors who hardly ever post. One is Reliance a biologist. 3 are mathematicians: Chrysippus, Miscmathematician, and Numbersguy, snails is a lawyer. Tappingthezen or w/e is a physicist. Cncman is a physicist or engineer but at least is studying rigorous stuff. Isingmodel has some training in physics. I'm probably forgetting a few, but it's like under 1% of the ppl who post here have a clue about things.

Almost everything I see on here daily is wrong.

If I had to guess, I'd say either Miscmathematician or Numbersguy are the smartest people on the board.

So the only way to be intelligent is to research things or get published? What kind of retard logic is that? There are plenty of good, intelligent discussions taking place online. Reddit doesn't cater to discussions though it caters to group think and punny jokes. Misc is a little because it uses the older VB style forum which naturally creates a better environment for discussions.

Reddit is bad because people who think like the masses get tons of validation and they think that's the only way to think. If this were reddit, no one would even read or respond to your posts because you generally go against the narrative and debate the consensus. Yet, your posts are still just as visible as someone who is going with the narrative and agreeing with everyone. It wouldn't be like that on reddit, hence, misc > reddit, like we all know.

All of those things fall under the umbrella of "politics" in one way or another. As a matter of fact the OP in the thread OP linked said "Not the US. I don't like how the system works over there." which could be considered political as well. Otherwise what the **** would "the system" possibly be referring to? Speaking non-specifically doesn't mean it's not political.

And misc is quite an echo chamber. I've been banned over political reasons multiple times. Half the mods agree with me and half of them want to feed me to sharks. I'm kept around because they need dissent and pushback in case some of you try to repeat jan 6. They can argue this isn't a right wing extremist forum because many of the posts are by me. lol That is the ONLY reason I am allowed to exist here.

Politics being implied non explicitly vs somebody making a direct political partisan dig like op are two different things boyo. That's exactly where the line is drawn for that particular sub in terms of their rules.
