Apparently the Russian COVID-19 vaccine is safe

My grandma had it back in May 2021 and she's reported that she feels fine and is safe - and she's like 80.

The Russian one is an actual vaccine made the way that flu vaccines are normally made. They didn't try to do some fancy mRNA spike protein chit in order to seem high-tech and superior. They just did stuff the normal way.

That's not to say it's perfectly healthy, but it has to be miles better than the western ones.

I would trust Russia's vaccine over any American vaccine. Russia is experiencing a population decline, Putin has been on record saying that Russia's population decline haunts him... no way in hell would he ever allow a vax that will kill ethnic Ruskies...

If it weren't safe, Russia wouldn't have made it and urged everyone to get it.

You guys, the existing covid vaccines are generally safe, with some rare side effects. Any of the major vaccines is better than covid.

I'm going to consider the Novavax when it comes out when I've had a little bit more time to do some more research. Not going to be part of the world wide mRNA clinical trials.

It'll depend on what the "variant state" COVID is at when it does.

well since covid has a 99.7% death rate, then a deactivated version will be even weaker. seems to be like the better option.

I've been thinking the same. Should be available to us later this year. At this point, I'm not interested in any. But if I have to get vaccinated for some reason, novavax is looking like the best option.
